Co-op Grocery Store Consulting Project

This team-based consulting project tasked my team of four other college students to create the operational plan for a network of cooperative grocery stores to address the growing food inequality crisis in Tulsa.

The project was for Tulsa nonprofit R&G Family Grocer who has been working to combat food inequality in Tulsa for the past 6+ years. The following operational plan outlines a cooperative grocery store model developed to address the needs of the communities facing food inequity in Tulsa.

During this project, the team met with 35 experts and members of the Tulsa community along with benchmarking 40+ co-op grocery stores across the country. In the end, my group and I created a plan that can increase the nonprofit’s engagement with the community by more than 16%, garner $1.14M in annual revenue in each store, and generate $1.8M in economic activity for the surrounding communities.
